Passivation: A must not only for new cooling towers
What is passivation? Passivation renders the surface less reactive chemically. This is good for controlling scale, corrosion and bacteria on both new and old cooling towers. Although the VRTX system dramatically reduces scale, corrosion and bacteria, there is still a threat.
Passivation is good because a clean cooling tower equals a more efficient cooling tower. Clean towers will obviously require less maintenance, as well. These all add up to lower overhead costs for your company.
Companies already use numerous chemicals to treat the scale, corrosion and bacteria. Your water treatment program should make it easy for you to be efficient and have fewer headaches when dealing with your chemicals. Using numerous hazardous chemicals isn’t needed to operate your tower or condenser, so why continue with the hassle?
