Increasing Energy Costs
Energy costs aren’t going down. Very few companies have begun serious energy efficiency programs. There’s the stigma that going green is expensive. Your current water treatment program should be providing solutions for the hidden costs of inefficient operations.
By leveraging energy and facilities as investments, companies can gain control of energy use and achieve high rates of return in the form of energy savings. Rising energy prices typically force companies to look more strategically at how they buy, manage and use energy
Some reasons companies haven’t acted on reducing their energy costs are listed below (sourced from Schneider Electric):
- Prefer to invest scarce available dollars on more important issues
- Owners view energy issues as costs, not as investments
- Uneducated in the proper areas
- Most facilities are managed on a reactive basis, rather than a proactive one
- Owners view energy issues as costs, not as investments
