Overhead costs to run and maintain a cooling tower or evaporative condenser is high. Rising energy costs are no longer a nuisance, but a threat. Shouldn’t your water treatment company offer you options for energy conservation?
Many consumers are not aware that VRTX systems don’t have to operate 24/7. Units with VRTX Control Stations have a special “Power Saver” mode that allows inputs to the PLC to signal low-load conditions. The system then automatically starts cycling the power ON and OFF to conserve power through the pumps.
The standard treatment systems from VRTX currently have two pumps: one for the VRTX treatment and the other for the filtration operation. During a Power Saver initiation, the pumps will be cycled ON and OFF to maintain treatment specifications and save energy. When the initiation signal is sent to the VRTX Control Station, the cycle begins and will recycle until the Chillers or EC pumps come back ON.
This mode is available on all VRTX treatment systems that have the VRTX Control Station. Its basic timing changes depending upon if your skid utilizes one pump or two. For older systems without a VRTX Control Station, other options are available.
